RAC's
Statement for Non-Inclusion/Exemption
We, the united (and
unaffiliated) reflexologists of the state of California as overseen by
the national organization of the American Reflexology Certification
Board, (a self-governing body) hereby proclaim that reflexologists and
the field of study be viewed as separate and independent from other
"touch" modalities currently or soon to be governed by the
state (national and local) laws for massage practitioners.
With all due respect for the
esteemed field of massage, reflexologists reserve the right of
recognition as a stand-alone "touch" modality with
understanding and willingness to also encourage incorporation of the
study and practice of reflexology by other touch modality practitioners.
We request that the scope of
practice by reflexologists be recognized as a separate, either by
non-inclusion or exemption from state (national and local) licensing
laws affecting therapeutic massage and its practitioners.
